Watch Artemis 1 moon mission roll off the pad early Friday

NASA plans to start out rolling its Artemis 1 moon mission off the launch pad early Friday morning (July 1), and you’ll watch the slow-moving motion dwell.

The Artemis 1 stack — a House Launch System (SLS) rocket topped by an Orion crew capsule — is anticipated to depart Pad 39B at NASA’s Kennedy House Middle (KSC) in Florida at midnight EDT (0400 GMT) on Friday. The duo will head towards KSC’s cavernous Car Meeting Constructing (VAB), making the 4-mile (6.4 kilometers) journey in 10 hours or so atop NASA’s monumental crawler-transporter 2 car.
